I'm going to make these for a bake sale to help raise funds for a funeral for a 16 year old boy that was a friend of my son's. He was killed by a train the other night. These looks so good it'll be hard to make them and not eat, but it's for a good cause.

I made these last night with my boys and they are yummy! I just have one question: maybe I made them too big, but they flattened out, so they're pretty thin. How do you make them look more like the photo above? Thanks for the recipe!
-
Six Sisters says:
Be sure your butter is not melted, just room temperature. Margarine works better than butter in cookies. Try reducing the margarine to 1 1/2 sticks. You could also try adding an extra 1/2 cup of flour.
Hope these little tricks will help. -The Six Sisters -

Have you changed anything in this recipe from your original 2012 one? Yes I've been making these since then! My last few batches have been spreading more than they used to so I'm wondering if there was a change in the recipe.
-
Momma Cyd says:
As far as I know the recipe has not changed. You could reduce the butter to 3/4 cup or try margarine. Also try adding an extra 1/4 cup of flour. Be sure the butter is softened and not melted.
